I fed only peas to my trout for a week before culling,
But I wouldn't worry now...
...I am happy with the flavours I add during cooking
and and couldn't notice a diff'.

I don't know about the Ph needs of bacteria but this link is a good guide for fish Ph.
Note: it recommends against quick adjustments and explains why that doesn't work

I've heard that high PH is not a problem unless there is too much ammonia in the system.
My aquarium tank has high Ph. I'm trying to bring it down slowly with a piece of wood.
