Thanks Rup. So that should help sort the problem and stop the deaths?

Depends how stressed the fish are and the state of any secondary infections Seemore... you could lose a few more....

Definitely will help.... particularly with "Ich"... and will slow and hopefully heal any fungal problems.... unless they're too far advanced, then Formalin is your only option...

Hard to tell from the pics.... but salting wont do any harm.... get your water params back asap... and salt regardless....

Either too many fish, or too much food.

What is your PH?

My pH is 7.4. I added 1.5 kg of salt yesterday, a little under the amount I was supposed to but had added some for a couple of days beforehand and didn't want to overdo it. Did another test this morning and the ammonia is almost 0 but the nitrites are 0.5 so still too high. I had inadvertently turned the pumps off yesterday  so that certainly didn't help my situation. Will try and move some more of the fish to the back system today. They aren't easy to catch. No more casualties this morning though. I have the pump running continuously at present and am not feeding them.
