Here they go for about $1.50 per pound. Not quite as high as Barra.

Tim;

I realize this is a pretty old thread, but at one time you had several convicts that were breeding and some tilapia. Next I read, you have trout.

What happened to the convicts and tilapia? Did they not workout, not survive the winter?

Nice set up at any ate.

Good growing,

kc5gxl, The convicts are real s***s of things, and they had a habit of killing everything else in the tank they are in.

I got a few batches of babies from them. I moved them into another tank when I disassembled the system to make room for the new
system. The male disappeared and the three females just slowly died off.

The tilapia on the other hand are still going good. Just today I hooked up three 2.5 foot aquariums to get some serious breeding happening.
I have decided to separate the males and females apart to try and grow them out a bit. I have found that these fish seem to grow to about 3 inches
and then just stop when they colour up.

So the Tilapia experiment is still going...

Yea, at about 3-4 inches they start breeding if they can. The babies are fun to watch in an aquarium though.
