Here they are! 3 of Colorados finest small scale AP systems. Tried to represent a bunch of different methods. there is a flow through, flood and drain using a bell siphon and a recently constructed barrel tower.
The flood and drain and flow through are stocked with goldfish for now (systems just reached bacterial equilibrium) and the barrel is stocked with crawfish and minnows. Am planning to stock the older systems with tiliapia or perch in the near future.
Questions, comments, suggestions.....bring em on.
thanks for all the great info and help to get another AP project off the ground!

System looks great!
A lot better than mine, that's for sure. I like the tower, are those strawberries?
Now you just need a loop siphon and pump water up to a barrel to complete the set. :D
What pump are you running? Continuous flow or timer? Great job!

That tower is awesome! Did you make it from 3 barrels?

Yeah, love the tower.... what media did you use and how are you flooding it....

I take it that you cut the bottoms out of the barrels??? .... or did you just drill holes through the bottoms?

The tower is planted with various peppers, strawberries and a couple cooking herbs. A 1200 gallon per hour magnetic drive utility pondmaster moves the water from the tank to the top of the barrel continuously. The flow rate of the water is controlled by a valve at the top of the barrel.
Each section of the tower is half a 55 gallon (reused from a previous aquaculture project).
The barrels themselves are filled with 3/8" pea gravel and to get flow through each on I drilled probably 12-14 3 1/2" holes throughout the bottom- mostly concentrated on the out edge of each barrel.

Also interested to see how the continuous flow system does.

Great stuff there! I would love to see how the barrel system turns out in a few months - I like that idea! :D
