My system is going really well now ... has a slight leak at one of the joins, but I lose more in evaporation than through it.

I tossed out a lot of the lettuce, and threw in a Tomato ( some form of cherry. can't remember which ) and a strawberry.

The tomato is going crazy, it grew so quick I wasn't prepared to start supporting it. One of the main branches bent and half-broke. I've tied it up by using loops of twine supporing the horizontal(ish) branches now.

The strawberry is doing well too, got our first ripe one ready today.

I'll have to take some new photos of it.

Question: How do I stunt the tomato bushes growth? Can I just prune all new vertical growth and encourage horizontal ? Or can that damage the bush?

Nice tomatoes UT, Raimo put up a thread on tomato growing but it was to get the best out of the plant not stunt its growth.

Here is a link to it

In an effort to bring back some decent growth rates of my plants I've just put 10 feeder goldies in my tank. I'm about to cover 3/4 of the tanks sides with alfoil to help reduce algae on the sides.

Here's some pictures of some cool bugs ( no idea what ) that are either just hatching, or laying, I couldn't tell which. ( two bugs bunch of eggs, when I first noticed them one looked like he was 3/4 out of an egg ).

now that you took the pic of the bugs, get rid of them. Feed them to the frog.

Are they bad bugs? All of those eggs have hatched now and there's about 8 of them hanging around on that leaf.

I replaced the glass tank with a food-grade plastic tub ( $11 from the B ). Has been a couple of days now and the nitrates have skyrocketed! I'll have to stop feeding them for a few days. PH seems good, and ammonia/nitrites were low.
