I come across this today, didn't know they had a course in Aquaponics. Seems it's just a one day seminar covering a far range of topics. Bit hexy I think. http://www.challenger.wa.edu.au/courses ... ourse.aspx AIM Aquaponics is the method of combining aquaculture and hydroponics to grow both fish and vegetables in the same system. With more emphasis being placed on sustainable practices, aquaponics is a great way of producing healthy food with significantly less water usage and without the need for fertilisers. Nothing wrong with training, commercial or other wise, I used to be a trainer. The only problem I have is if the institution and or trainers do not have a good sound knowledge about the subject matter. I have no knowledge one way or the other about this 1 day course they are offering, but I would think and hope it is born out of their Aquaculture courses. |

I'm afraid it's the same as pretty much every commercial aquaponic training I've seen so far, never built of run a commercial AP system.. Plenty of aquaculture experience, and throw in the hydroponic guy from the horticultural TAFE, to cover hydro plants, but so far as commercial AP as aquaponics, nup. If you wanna learn about aquaculture, great one day course to do...  And I should just shut up now because they don't like me saying what I think....
