Hi guys, we've been given grant money from the local council and are setting up an Aquaponics system. We'll be running some of the growth beds constantly flooded. My question is; till what height will we let the water come in the CF beds? I was thinking till 10 - 15 cm under the top of the growth, so there'll be enough space for the roots to go without being flooded constantly. What do people usually do? Cheers, Jan |

Keep the water flooding just under the surface of the media in the growbed, You want seedling to be able to get the water and possibly seeds as well, but you don't want water on the surface where sunlight can hit it. |

Thanks mate, makes sense, although I'm surprised the rootsystem of the plant won't start rotting. Could that because the water is not stagnant but always one the move? Cheers, Jan |

Yep.... Same reason that worms survive in the system when they are constantly flooded, highly oxygenated water. |
