I think id like this tank if i could get it. Not sure of the cost though, but 1500 Ltrs falls right into my range, and its got a window so the kids can see the fish...

Now will it fit throgh a door?

But not that easy to organise... This is all depending if we get some grants.

But id love to do daily PH readings with the kids over a 10 week period and plot the data...

Cool, used to be they'd ring me after a few sherbets but then I think kids came along and the sherbets stopped...

I have a 1000L round tank that is 1650mm dia by 600mm high, it would easiuly fit through a door. The good thing about a low tank is that having a gravity return from the growbeds is easy..

Lots more developments, esp funding that we are getting pretty exited about here. Just cant talk about them yet etc.

We are hoping for a possible 2000 - 3000 Ltr system with growbeds etc. We have about 3 - 4 staff keen on board with another 4 senior students.

We want to include use of a worm farm/s to take a portion of schools green waste, grow worms to feed to the fish.

Our main discussions of late revolve around integration into curriculum and making sure the project has a long life and well integrated into classes and units.

Keep posted, more to follow when i know...

Also I heading up to Cairns in 1 week, so i was hoping to get in touch with Aquamad up there and catch up.

As part of my trip, im hopefully dropping into Thuringowra SHS who actually got their AQUAPONICS setup done last year, but they went the other way and didnt know about this forum, website or the New inventors entry nor the Gardening Australia episode. So ive made them aware of this site etc and were exited to go up and see their set up.

Im also hopeing to drop into Tully SHS and see their Aquaculture setup which they have on their website. Pretty cool...

Ive sent Aqua a couple of PM but havent been able to get into contact.. can anyone help?

Macca

Macca, AM will probably be on later tonight. If you do make it Thuringowa, make sure to stop by here too :) We're on the south side of Townsville/Thuringowa.

I had rather HUGE news today and its all fantastic... but I cant share it yet... Ill wait till we have an official announcement in the paper...

Weve now changed tack to an outdoors system, Im hoping something similar to Aquamads. An idea is a Enclosed greenhouse joining another greenhouse we have at school. Its a great location and we can dig into the ground. It will be lockable and have sun all of the day...

I cant wait till I can tell you guys...
