I am building a system this summer, and would love to see one in operation. I live in Mobile, AL. and would like to take a tour of someone's system, if anyone near here is willing to show theirs off. |

I'm at Loyola University in New Orleans, not exactly a quick drive but much more close than these guys in Australia (much love). How has your system come along this summer? I also spent the summer assembling a system outside the front of the apartment. I'm approaching completion and have documented the progress well. Do you have photos posted? Have you prepared the your system to be storm ready? Let me know what's going on. Stute |

Sadly, I have experienced nothing but delays all summer. I hope to start in the fall, now. |

You are located right between me and TCLynx. If you come to Houston, I can show you one 800gal pond pumping to one 300gal 2-foot deep growbed. Thrill to the plans of adding gravel to a second identical GB already plumbed in next to the first. Witness first-hand the gradual buildup of Fish Poo Pavement. See goldfish and hear tales of 24 legendary lurking catfish. Sweat profusely. TC's setup is a bit different. Rick |

I have a cousin in Houston that I need to visit. I may be able to swing through in October and take a look. |

How's the system going? I live a bout 2.5 hrs north of you in Marengo county. I started a small 2 bed system about 2 months ago. I have a 55 gallon drum as my fish tank. The system is a flood and drain type. I started with 7 blue gill but I am down to 4 now. Hopefully within the next week I can add some more, because the number of fish is not supporting my nutrient level needed at this time. I also am having problems with a low pH at this time. Are you or have you experienced these problems? |

Same here I have done small Hydroponics before now considering putting together a small commercial/home aquaponics setup. I'm really just beginning to look into the viability of it here and if so, the best configuration. I have about 9 acres for use but my goals are not that big. I was hoping the Auburn Extension here would have a setup but so far I have not found anything. Going to call them unless you all have a better option. Now my goals and they could be pie in the sky but here they are: 1. Raise enough vegetables/fish to feed family of 4 - 6. 2. Enough vegetables/fish to produce steady $4k/monthly income (i.e. 1K organic lettuce weekly) My previous experience is with DWC Hydroponics. So far given I live in a very humid climate and long hot summers and brief very cool winters I was leaning towards a floating raft system type of setup. I do plan to use solar to provide most if not all the power requirements. I am a decent carpenter and a first class geek. |

Nashville isn't too close, but if you come, bring beer. |

Hello, I'm also in the Mobile, AL area and am about to start up an aquaponic setup. I see this thread is quite old but i'm hoping that perhaps more people are local now that have setups. I'd be interested in coming by to see your setup. Also I'm trying to source some fish stock now as well and would appreciate any help. Additional information that would be very helpful is info regarding how well your tanks did over the winter. Were heaters required etc.. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks |
