.. Surely there must be more than just three AP systems in the Sydney area.. If only we knew who was where, we might be able to organise some local events.. So we have Ingleburn, Peakhurst, and Stanmore.. WHERE else - WHO else.. .. . |

The reason I want to unite us is because I had a pretty hard time translating and gathering all the necessary parts. We don't have a lot of physical hardware stores that are well supplied in aquarium/pond parts (at least not in my area). Also we have a pretty cold and rainy climate so there are many AP factors different out here. And of course we have our own local fish and plant species with their local succession rates which differ from international varieties. |

There are plenty of systems in Sydney, and most AP people are aware of this forum but they just lurk and browse, and don't join up, I don't know why ?

If there's a meetup anywhere in the Hills/Parramatta/Blacktown area, I'm in. I'm new to AP, but I've got an extensive background in wastewater treatment, which has a surprising amount of similarities. |

.. Lost sight of this thread .. So there are a few of us spread widely.. I must admit that I have found a.few that just quietly exist.. Likely good to have our system threads up and running and then keep each other in mind if "needs" arise, and if travelling to other areas. And a cuppa-tea is in order. .. |

Padstow - New System Hi All, Not sure if anyone still watching this thread, I have a 6 week old AP system, introduced 20 SP yesterday (thank you Steve *rendang* from Ingleburn) after Ammonia & Nitrites have settled down to 0 after cycling. System: Full IBC FT, 1/2 full IBC Sump, 4 x 300mm IBC GB's, Flood and Drain using bell siphons, Pump in sump splitting water to FT & GB's, SLO in FT drains to 200L drum swirl filter, then to sump. GB's drain via piping straight to sump. Have built an enclosed hoop house (50mm polypipe on star pegs) to keep undesirable leaf litter and Cockys out. My only strawberry disappeared from plant without trace last week....googled it up, appears I might have chipmunks in Padstow, then noted I was reading a Canadian post... SP seem lively and happy, not happy with me staring at them....but, they're pretty cute! Cheers, Carl |
