Post subject:  Hello from Puerto Rico

Hi there!! So glad to find this forum!
My name is Felix from Luquillo, Puerto Rico & I'm eager to build my first system (which will depend on how much room my boss/wife allows) I have no idea what I'm doing, so I'll surely be reading before I start typing!! Just thought I'd drop a line or two!!

Cheers!

Felix

Beautiful work, Felix! Welcome to the forum. Where will you put the AP system? I'd hate for you to destroy those beautiful courtyard gardens. Of course, you could expand the pond, use that for your fish tank, and then pump up to multi-layered growbeds....hmmmm...

Well, I dunno. I have several things in mind. One thing would be to put it behind the door to the left in the first photo, which receives sunlight most of the day. If I did this I'd want to plug it into the larger pond. It seems like this would be the easiest (& least expensive) way, but I can't picture how to hide the pipes. Option 2 would be on the roof, (houses here have flat roofs) with a 500 or so gallon fiberglass tank I have up there right now. (But then I'd have the expense of building something to cover it up, since it gets brutally hot down here sometimes. My third option would be to put the tank out back, where I could cover said tank with an existing roof, but I'm sure the wife wouldn't allow it... Maybe I can replace the wife with fish (?) LOL!

Hi Felix! Welcome :D
I think replacing a spouse at the beginning of an AP addiction is a sure sign of bad things to come ;)
Have fun with it!

Welcome Felix... from what I see, I have the feeling whatever you do will be well thought out and probably disgustingly neat and tidy...... :D

Like what I see

Hi Felix welcome to the forum. Nice reef tank hmm..just what is your plan for that big empty tank? Yes I can see that fish pond working into the system easily. Have fun with it.

Thanks to all!

Yup! 125 gallon tank is now set up, 55 is empty & will house freshwater fish (probably angels). The other 55 gallon tank will serve as a refugium / sump.

I'll post photos of the 125 as soon as I finish painting a stand we built for it (no more cables / pipes showing!!!)

Cheers!
Felix
