My names Trey i'm some what new to Oklahoma and i'm very interested in talking with people about different kinds of aquaponic setups. I am a member of the Delware tribe in bartlesville and am helping set up a traditional garden and vegetable garden for the tribe. In talking with the tribe they seem interested in aquaponics and maybe having me build something on are tribal land to help feed the elders and cut kitchen cost on food. I've made two small indoor systems as well as a integrated window farm in to one of them. I would love to just talk to some one who has a larger system say with ibc totes or one that produces edible fish. Even if you don't have ether, i would still love to join a local group or just chat with people who share the same passion for aquaponics. as I do. Thanks guys hope to hear from you

my good fortune and stable ph be with you

Welcome! It is always good to see more new systems coming up. @comptorepo, it is awesome that the tribe is willing to set up a system. Perhaps when they build a casino, it can be AP themed. (I think every tribe should have a casino, not because I gamble or anything, but because I have seen how much wealth it can generate for the tribes that have them. It is good to see people come up from almost nothing to being an economic force. It allows their culture to remain alive, because it give the younger members of the tribes a reason to stay.)

Yea i wish the Delaware could have a casino but all of are land in Oklahoma we got from the Cherokee, and they have made so that we can't have any gambling on are land unless they control it. From what i understand the tribal councle is trying to bypass this and are planning a casino in Caney Kansas. I'm just really interested in setting a large AP system up and helping the tribe and give get more involved with the elders.

i have two small systems a fishtank system and then i'm cycling in a new window farm aquaponics combo system. http://imgur.com/m5ayrxQ picture of the first system. I'll hopefully have the money in the next two weeks to build the totes system. Is there a Tulsa aquaponics meet up or group that gets together?

I have a buried tote and a 10' cattle feed trough for the grow bed. I plan to add more grow beds soon. I have a mixture of fish, I just went fishing to get them, bass, catfish, perch, crappie and crawdads some of them become food for the others.

I have seen people on line using trough recently. They seem to be a pretty affordable idea, you have any suggestion for a place to find cheap troughs for grow beds? I have a floating raft in my small set up and i think crawdads might work underneath the plants. Not sure if they would eat the roots but i think i might have to go grab some out of the creek to try out.

They really are not that cheap but its easy. I purchased mine at Tractor Supply, Atwoods also has them they are all the same price. $120.

I just added another bed, literally. I used an old bunk bed and lined it with plywood and plastic then pea gravel it seems to work fine also.

I live in Owasso and have 2 IPC systems that I started in mid Aprl. I am having a lot of fun with it. I plan on building a green house this summer for maybe a 6 or 7 hundred gallon system. I am sold on aquaponics.
