Hi
I've been wanted to ask this question.
I'm thinking of opening a farm up near Chico California where temperatures is average 90-115f and as cold as 50f at night.
Could aquaponics work in these changing temperature?

Thanks

I'm in Phoenix. We have a couple who have an outdoor aquaponics system in an old in-ground pool and it works quite well. If I were going with a larger system, I'd build a greenhouse with panels that can be opened/removed in the summer and a large buried sump. The bigger the system, the more stable it will be.

The garden pool (gardenpool.org) people also have evap coolers, I think. Phoenix has pretty wild temperature range. In the middle of the day in the summer we can get to 120+F and in the winter we can get down below freezing at night... Its even snowed here a few times! Their system is going quite well.

I'd say give it a go!

Hi
Yeah sounds that it will work. But I interested in doing it small then commercial for profits. Now I have to research if the county allow tilapia and if the surrounding market would buy the veggies. The place where I live is quite small but land is cheap there.

Did you ever start this up? I'm running a setup outdoor in lower Paradise.
