If you could get the growbed slightly higher than the ft you could get a cheap pump / filter from the pet store to move the water then just have an overflow valve in the side of the gb to drain back into the ft constant flood style |

Ok, I will keep that in mind with my next upgrade or change to the system. I like the Nelson and Pade (aquaponics.com) rule of thumb...one pump per system. Pump up to the grow beds, and gravity feed all the way back to the fish tank. I planted sprouts in my system to see what seeds sprout, the water feels quite cold in the grow bed, but I suspect it's just fine for sprouting. I think I already see some bean sprouts coming out of their shell. Later all, jeff c |

Here is the latest lettuce sprouts update from my system. I am manually exchanging water with my 10 gallon aquarium once every day or maybe every two days.

Here is a side view of the lettuce sprouts...there is also a tomato sprout in there, and swiss chard, and some spinach, but I can't tell the difference yet.  Attachment:
