well I had a read and a look at the vids and started the gnashing of the teeth and the wailing of the demented caused by lack of funding etc
This arvo I went into the shadehouse to feed the goldfish and the light clicked on... :D Bit more looking around found some white foam boxes from supermarket steel mesh and steel tube mmmmmmmmmmmI could make a frame put the boxes on that slightly elevated, pond pump to move the water to foam grow beds and gravity fed back to pond. :D
Now for the grow mediun ..ah ha of course the left over gravel at the block concreting is finished. OK we have a system now the frame will hold 12 foam boxes so yep its expandable and do for now.
The big system for out there -----> is a tank thats at a mates place rusted out but concrete and walla 2 ponds of about 2500l each 1 fish 1 yabbies or maron if I can get em here ? mmmmmm things is on the up & up what a buzz ...pics will happen as I get started but I gotta go away for a couple days so I guess it will all start happening next week...Xmas has come early thanks to Santa Joel

Go for it dry, word of caution tho - I have a foam box which has a hidden leak, just put some water in and let them stand for about an hour to check them out (or you could seal them and paint murals on each 8) )

Paint things like the AP toolkit on the sides - chain & holesaw, tuning fork and the inevitable ladies apple corer  (of course these will be naked drawings  )

Having had a fright at the site of my full frontal ithe paintings will need to be discrete veiws of from the back. :D
All the boxes will be checked out prior to use to avoid leaks (celery ok?)
At least this will get me started while I begin the larger system. As my nearest neighbours out there are over a Km away the collection and storage wont bother them unlike those in suburbia.

Same here. :D There are some advantages to living in the country (aside from the 2 hour drive to Adelaide :( )

Hey Mon, when you get around to ordering some Silvers, I am interested. I just need to sort out my algae problem and plumb the big grow beds in.

Nova the tyranny of distance is what keeps us in a quiet lifestyle :)
which side of Gepps Cross .....errr Adelaide are you?
we might be able to arrange a few fish with Monya and as I'm 3.5 hrs from Adelaide (at current speed limits) it might be another way to get them to here if I only need to go half the distance.
Who knows by Feb might have a few Sth ozzies looking for fish so a group purchase may make it a bit cheaper?

Pete, I am on the other side from you, down in the South East. :)

I only want around 50, I haven't enough room for any more grow beds without putting them outside.

I'm after 50 or so as well but if we all combine it might give us a better price. What do ya think?

What a great day! Not only did we get 3 mm of rain this afternoon, but I managed to get our Barrelponics system set up, the remaining barrels cut out and cleaned out, and a "lashed together" siphon system worked first time! :D

Wont be long and I will be experiencing the sheer joy of washing gravel (oohh my aching back - just the thought of it!).

Might have to do that F&F - my only worry is that my poor old XF Falcon ute would probably rust to bits on the spot! Could modify the technique to "fire hose and trailer" I suppose
