I am looking for a Puyallup, wa local who can help me with understanding what is going on with my system. It is not a normal aquaponics system. It is an aeroponics system I designed myself. I don't have a green thumb and I cannot read the minds of plants very well. I do have skill to design and build things. With that being said, I am looking for someone who can come see my system and tell me what is wrong. Lighting, watering, wrong plants mixed with other plants, etc.

I might even be willing to entertain a partnership if you find my systems worthy.

My system is an aeroponics system designed for in house use. It also takes advantage of fish water ecosystem for fertilization. My intent is to raise multiple varieties of fish and plants. Right now, I just need to get issues ironed out with the plants. I use Blue Nile Tilapia currently. Plans of fish farming is a part of my plan, as well as fresh water jumbo prawn.

Everything is natural, no chemicals are permitted. No other fertilizers, or additives. If you are a miracle grow person, then you are not the kind of help I am looking for. If you use any kind of media, then be aware, I am attempting to grow a media free environment.

I appreciate any help I can get.

It would be amazing if you can get aeroponics to work in an AP environment! Many have tried without success, as the nozzles clog easly. Perhaps you are the fresh mind that will find a way around that.

I wonder if a fast spinning disk would work better than trying to shove biofilm through tiny nozzles, Hex mentioned that once upon a time.

And Bullwinkle mentioned modifying a medication inhaler... The next question about that is would it actually end up reducing the nitrate levels as the nitrate removal is from the plants? There more to it that I know, for sure, and I am always interested in better ways of doing things. But once someone actually does get it to work, I would love to see trials between aeroponically grown ap veggies and fish, vs media bed grown. Media beds certainly work well with little maintenance...

I'm not worried about private contact. I am very sociable and would be delighted to talk about the aeroponics.

I don't use nozzles, but I am considering it. I use 1/2 ID tubing with drilled holes. Also, I run the fish water through an external canister filter with bioballs. This is then pumped into a second reservoir I call the root chamber. I am working right now to change this section in an infugium tank where I can automate duckweed dispensing and growth. It will also house a fresh water jumbo prawn environment. This is still under re-design. Meanwhile this area acts as a settling area for solids that make it through the filter. Then a second water pump sprays the roots on a timer, roughly for 10 seconds every 20 minutes.
You can see some of my project work on YouTube search for "aeroponics Larry Hayes".

My next project is already underway. This will be a greenhouse outdoor aeroponics wall garden. Imagine a wall with plants 1ft apart on one side and on foot a part on the other side, but staggered so that the wall is only 6 inches thick and the plants from both sides are only 6 inches apart. This really tightens the grow space but allows for plenty of plant growth space. Get the difference? Anyway, it will be supplied with an aeroponics fertilization from above, at the bottom will be the reciting tanks with the infugium style like the one above with prawns. I am starting my first test construction next weekend when I get the materials to build the walls.

I am so excited about this, that I hate already put up a cheap little cheesy greenhouse for t last night.

I find loggers to be an interesting avenue. I am thinking of building eventually but my hands are full trying to get current stuff finished. When my current project load is done, I will have a full scale system that will not only grow a wide variety of vegetables and fruit, but also a wide variety of fish and frustrations. It will also be able to ship these "produce" live and well from farm, to markets/grocers and even to consumers home, still alive and growing, with an exchange system for easy replenishment of consumed "produce". Imagine a semi trailer/container converted into an aeroponics greenhouse. Imagine the farm consists of 20 of these stacked 2 high in a single acre of land. That is how we make this industry grow. From farm to consumer with life, healthy foods. That's my vision, then I think I can take the time to consider diggers and other forms of aqua delivery systems.

Are you saying crustations are frustrating?

Yes, crustations. Darn Surface has a lot to learn about touch screen behavior. Mistypes a lot.

Caught your message Alex, just been swamped. I will try to return call soon, but I did get out a new video update to show what is going on with the system. Search YouTube for "aeroponics Larry Hayes" it should be there.

Hey everyone,

New to AP and new to this state would like to get something small going here soon. Where does everyone get there fish from and how would crawfish work with the temperature here. I'm sure that I'll have more questions as I go but this is all I got for now.

The very first house I lived in was in Spanaway! We moved to Tacoma when I was three, then Port Orchard, then Olalla, then, then, then.
