Half a IBC I give 800kg for safety, check out my thread in the signiture. I have two beds at the moment and just starting on my next four.

Forget barra you would still need to heat your tank, silver perch tolerate the cold better. I have jade perch and will also put in some silver at the end of march.

This thread is just a introduction to fellow Queenslanders. Head to members system and start youe own thread, this will allow you to record your journey but the best place to ask questions in regards to your system. Remember to post plenty of photos, cheers

Hi All,

I want to show the wife some systems but anything that looks 'messy' will have the opposite effect.

I have 80m2 and in that space I have to house the BBQ, Pizza Oven, giant Hill's Hoist, seating area and a couple of trees. The FT and grow beds will have to be along the fence lines which is not ideal!

Anyway, I look forward to reading the rest of the forum!

Check out Boris's system thread then. He had similar constraints. From memory I think he used decking all around his IBCs, created little hinged doors to hide outflow pipes etc.
I went one step further. I got my wife when she was starving, and scrolled through Charlie's yabbying adventures. Sure, it had nothing to do with AP but it helped associate in her mind AP with ending her hunger in a delicious way.

I am from Brisbane and I have built a greenhouse system on Russell Island, Redland Bay area. It is a 1000 litre fish tank with 3 IBC grow beds there is also 3x5metre NFT tubes and 10 strawberry towers on the wall fed from the same sump and fish tank...with approx 50 Jade Perch.. my system has been running since about 11/12 and is producing very well :thumbright: It's a CHIFT PIST setup

Hi all, I'm form the Gold Coast and have ordered my firts IBC to pick up this weekend.

Planning on a single IBC with the top used for the GB and a 200L drum cut in half as GBs either side.

Still not sure about going with siphons or F&D.

Hi Mag, welcome.

Just so you know siphons are used in an F&D system so it's kinda the same thing. Maybe you meant F&D or constant flood? :D

Regards, Martin.

Am running Jades and some red claw.

Hi Kitacooch,

I'm in Parkwood so just next door.. I've just got my first IBC today. Unfortunately I'm away all week so will only be able to set it up next weekend.
