But I can tell you here in TAS I am about to post my biopod for sale as I cannot get a colony growing no matter how much I try.

Well, would you believe I FINALLY have some BSF happening..! For a number of weeks I have had an absolutely stack of common house and garden flies running rampant in the biopod and giving me a daily supply of their smaller larvae which the fingerlings have lapped up.

But.... four days ago 1 BSF larvae appeared in the collecting tub.

Since, I have had 3 every day.. :D

Those in warmer climates would be going 'yeh ok'.. But I tell you it has not been all that successful to date, and moving the biopod into the glasshouse certainly has worked. So far. Smells, but is getting better..

It will be interesting to see how it goes as the cooler weather is approaching though. :?

That is great news Tony. Looks like I will have to try again and persevere.
BSF sound like me...they like the warmer weather.

Hi Tony in Tas,

I'm interested to know if you have continued to harvest BSF at your place at Midway Point?

I can't find any official record of BSF being present in Tasmania so I thought I would ask you before building my own system.

I'm very interested in what your experience with BSF has been.

I live in Mt Nelson

AJP
