Last summer was the first run for the system, and saw 38kg of barra from just over 200 fish originally. This year I'll be giving the silver perch a good run, and would like to set up an outdoor growbed eventually (atm everything is in the greenhouse).

Still happy to show the system off if people are interested.

Hi steem, what was the lowest water temperature with the barra?

Yeeh - you lucky guys who have ADSL. I only have dial up.(It really has some drawbacks). I'm wondering where I can get an 8km cable to hook up to the net? Any suggestions??

I'm still working on my system - wasn't able to work on the growbed for some time. However - re: SOLENOID VALVES as used in sprinkler/dripper systems - I converted 2 to work without (zero) pressure. Needs some thought as to how they work normaly (with high water pressure).
Need to convert 1 more to get fast drainage for my GB.
If anybody is interested I can post some pics/drawing on:How to convert
a 12 v solenoid to work with ZERO pressure.

I'm about to organise a get-together soon. I've got a friend who's a "professional" in the field of aquaponics + aquaculture so I'm trying to arrange for him to be an invited guest speaker. Stay tunned ...

I'm keen, will stay tuned.....

My reputation exceeds me!
I rode from Perth to Joel's house (15km) on a dorky hire bike, with a full street directory, and still got lost. Monya knew I would, but was
If I tried to ride across the Nullabor, I reckon I'd take a wrong turn halfway!

Hi Greg and welcome to the forum.

Might be an idea to start your own thread in the members section, so that people can post replies....

Pictures or a drawing of your system might help and we like pics anyway :D

Are you planning to run continously or on a timer?

Hi all,

I'm setting up a backyard system in Port Lincoln. I have a background in aquaculture and have been growing strawberries and lettuce hydroponically. Keen to see if there is anyone on Eyre Peninsula having a go at aquaponics/freshwater aquaculture.
