Best (and cheapest) way to go is to buy them from a licenced grower, there are plenty in the phone book. Forest Fresh is a wholesaler who buys them from the farmers and then adds their mark up to it.

I located the Marron Farmers Association. It had a good tutorial on growing marron. Here is a Link
to the site.

I will phone a few places tomorrow. Anyone have any contact with the Marron Man in Byford? He appears to be the closest grower to me.

Any one looking for grow beds in a piece of furniture?
A friend advised me of some fibre glass planters in a metal & timber stand on castors at the Tip Shop.
I bought one for $5.00 and have checked it out.
The fibre glass tray is 0.77*0.325*0.30M = 75 litres It stands 0.92M high. I plan to use the one I bought as a GB for herbs in the kitchen, associated with an aquarium I bought today.
I am doing a leak test on the trough and so far it looks good.
Here are some pix of the stand and GB trough.

Possibly 4 left. They are at "Junkbusters" Drop n Shop, at the Hopkinson Rd Tip in Armadale. I think they are open on Saturday & Sunday only, but may be open on Friday also. Perhaps our new member Sleepe can clarify us on Friday opening?

BTW, Sleepe is the person who put me onto them.
Thanks Sleepe.

C1,
We are both members of Junkbusters, the group which started the Tip Shop, but which has been ousted by the City staff. David is still involved with hands on stuff, but my time runs out before I can get hands on stuff for other ppl.
I still manage to attend committee meetings though.
Sometimes he gets to look thru the recovered items, and I cannot pass a kerbside collection (aka kerbside swapmeet) without touring and checking out everyone's discards.

On Saturday, before collecting my fish tank, I picked up an eBay purchase (some MB hubcaps - $0.99 for 4) and noticed that the seller had pur some Sodium Vapour lamps out for the collection. She said that they worked but were of no use to her. My new Sodium Vapour lamps will light up my garage well.

I have just sent off 10 PMs for those in WA who have indicated a desire to attend a gathering on the 28th October at my place.
Members, Spouses and children under parental control are welcome.

See you here.

EB Said that he will be coming (when he posted in the WA thread a few weeks ago), so perhaps he will be bringing along some promootional material for us to display.

Don't forget the camera.
