Hey that's great! I've started to wonder if anybody around here had heard of aquaponics. I've been looking around but every time I mention it to somebody they look at me like I have 2 heads. But I did find a local hardware store that gets plastic barrells periodically. Dysons Lumber in Great Mills gets 30 and 50 gallon barrels for around $20 each.

I'm reading "Aquaponic Gardening" by Sylvia Bernstein for the 10th time and making doodles of different ideas.

LOL! Yeah, "Aquawhat?!" is what I hear a lot! A lot of skeptics here too. I've won over my husband, father inlaw and others by showing that it works :D Best thing is sharing the produce with family and friends and hearing them rave about it.

I've got some pics of my setup on my FB business page:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bowensville-Farm-and-Nursery/444778085595643?id=444778085595643&sk=photos_stream

They're kinda mixed up with some other pics from the business and I need to add some more recent pics of the DWC. I need to sit down and do the complete build thread when things slow down for the season.

Thanks for the lead with Dyson's lumber! I"m going to have to share that with my hubby since he's always on the hunt for barrels to make disc golf basket out of.

FYI-If you're ever in Baltimore, the Cylburn Center has an AP setup for viewing. I think most of their open houses are on Wednesdays, but if you contact them, they can work in a special tour.

I'm Just on the other side of the Potomac from MD - Coles Point, VA. Interested in hearing any location-specific info you guys might have. I'm sure we get the same weather! :D

Moving into a new house at the end of the month and hope to start my own garden soon after.

Hey Joey- I'm over on the eastern shore of md. Most of the location specific info I can offer is where to get certain supplies. Are you starting a garden or aquaponics system?

Hey Hey, setting up my first system, 275 gallon ibc tote here in NW, DC. Can you dig it :) It will be in the front yard which means I'll probably use minnows rather than talapia or trout :)
