I would like to know of someone who lives near Murrumba Downs, which is about 25 Klms north of Brisbane, who has an aquaponic set up which could be viewed by a person considering aquaponics for the future.

Regards........Elandra

probably VB is the best bet with les of offline at the moment.
I am at west end which is pretty close to town but after the last great fish kill my system is looking pretty sad. It is basically all there but the growth is not inspiring.

well when they tell you that you need a back up aeration system so that when the power goes out the fish have air, get one. Factor it into your initial setup costs. It is wel worth it. I had a breaker switch on a power board blow and 6-8 hours later no more fish or there was the time I disconected a pump to plug in another one and then forgot to replug in the first one = dead fish.
Or there was the time I moved a tank underneath a palm tree just as it was starting to drop fruit and then came back to a tank ful of dead fish and a pump full of palm nuts = dead fish

any way you get the idea. Always have a back up system in place and then have seperate aeration in the tank eg water return and air pump. it is worth it.

you can lose a years worth of fish in a very short period of time with lack of air. All over the forum air is recognised as the greatest fish killer.

any way, good luck, Nick

I concur, even though I'm yet to source an air-pump. I lost my fish very quickly dur to a faulty pump (and possibly dodgy feed).
