I asked about my tomato plant problem a few weeks ago I think the problem was due to water snails.Since my last post i have planted some new tomato plant seedlings to try and find what was wrong I checked them today ,one had the root sheared or bitten of One ,looked as if it was dying .I checked the root and found a small periwinkle like grub about 3 mm long It had a periwinkle like shell and a small greenish yellow head with small tentacles underneath. Does anyone know how to fix this problem.Imat a complete loss thank you Ravel |

I will try but it is so small .I think it is from the snail family possibly a malaysian periwinkle I have been looking it up on google and someone said iron potash will get rid of them. I dont know anything about this stuff but apparently it is safe for fish.I dont know where to buy it or what dosage so im open to any advice.I doubt if i can get a photo as it is so small but i would like to thank you for answering anyway Ravel |

I wouldn't rush into anything... Sounds like it may be a type of caddis fly larvae. They are very common, look really strange, often with elongated shell and what looks like tentacles or barnacle bits hanging out the end. Completely harmless.... |
