What are you trying to achieve by changing your cycle?
If you think your plants need more water due to expiration, then yes that's a good idea don't forget to keep an eye on your water temp NFT in higher temps heat up the water fairly quickly
If your trying to get the water temp down you need to put a get more water flow
Measure your temp readings at NFT input and outflow to see what effects you get from changes

Hi Bakir73,

Just a bump to learn how you got on with the high temps

Although we normally get summer temps well into the 40's (but not this year) the main problem is keeping the FT water cool, especially when nights are still in the high 20's to 30's. My systems run with 10 and 15 mins on, 50 and 45 mins off, so each is one cycle per hour. I expected to have to increase the cycle rates in summer, but it has not been necessary. I did place thick cloth stretched over the GB's as a tunnel and put the garden hose on timed mist spray (About 5 mins every hour) to achieve evaporative cooling and found this worked well.
I don't have NFT though, only F&D which doesn't allow the heat to build up in the GB water.
