I've attached some photos that look similar to what's going on with my basil. Seems to be two different things. One is yellowing on the tips of lower leaves with some showing brown spots near the yellowing. The other is yellowing of the leaf with the veins staying green. Stats are this:
Media: gravel
Ph: 6.7-7.2
Hardness: very hard
Alk: 80-120
Nitrates:40-60 ppm
Nitrites and ammonia: 0ppm
System: flood drain

Anyone have any idea what's causing this? Nutrients are in the water but the plants aren't taking it up for some reason.

How long has your system been running

Correcting deficiencies takes time (wait for new leaves)

As you have both old and new growth yellow and brown scorch I would try potassium

Also possible calcium / magnesium balance

I would try tossing in some dolomite and foliar potassium

Lots of nutrient diagnostic charts online can be confusing

My bet is on magnesium. Notice the symptoms are worse on older foliage. Get yourself some Epsom salts.

Have you tried putting a whole banana in the GB?
