You could try your local Landmark, Elders etc and see if they have any damaged Ibcs that they cant send back. I got two for free doing that

Not too bad if they are in really good condition, though generally you should be able to get them a bit cheaper for bulk..

I got mine for free by calling around to commercial bakeries until I found one that had spares they were happy to give me. In fact it was slightly more complicated than that in that one bakery said "No, we don't have any, but I know who does - let me contact them for you and I'll call you back."

I honestly never expected to hear from them again, but sure enough I got a call a few days later and that other company came through for me. I'm not sure which factor was most important, but I think the three deciding issues were:
1) I happily told them why I wanted the IBCs, and that I wasn't reselling them,
2) I got very lucky and encountered some very friendly contacts (a possible benefit of being in Texas), and
3) they aren't on a rail spur and thus are limited to either totes or tanker trucks.

Try trucking companies. Some of the newest trucks run a urea injection system into their exhaust, something to do with complying to the euro 4 emition requirements. A mate of mine manages a workshop and has trouble getting rid of them quick enough to stop the yard filling up. Worth a try.

Can provide details if anyone is interested

oh, and i rented a truck from home depot... $19 for the first 75 minutes, 10 bucks an hour over that..
