Hi everyone, How do we go about checking calcuim levels. Is there a special test kit we can purchase.

Also i would like to put photos up but can't work out how to do it. :dontknow:

we are happy with the progress of our system.

Thanks :D

Not sure if you get a test kit but you may want to try planting tomatoes as an indicator 8)
I only worry about calcium if i see "Blossom End Rot" on my tomatoes.

Hi,
I have a roundup of aquaponic testing equipment on my blog. The link is in my signature.

If you don't have any obvious deficiencies or issues I wouldn't go testing individual elements... you will end up with a bad case of analysis paralysis!

One of the first signs of Calcium deficiency is distorted new growth, either a bubbly/bumpy look to the new leaves, or cupping of the new leaves, followed shortly there after by patchy yellowing of the newer leaves. Rainbow Chard, Bok-Choy and Capsicum are good early indicator plants.

This pic shows both the bubbly effect and the cupping.

By the way to post pics you first have to open the "full Editor" tab and then click browse. Hope this helps
