Post subject:  How to add trace minerals to AP system

I know adding trace amounts of minerals gives my soil garden a huge boost every season. Can I add Azomite or rock dust to my aquaponics garden?
And wouldI just add it direclty in the fish tank?
How much? How often?

Appreciate the help!! :flower:

In the past many people added rock dust to gravel GB's, but I think most have stopped due to the build up in the bottom of the GB's and the fine gravel getting into places it's not wanted, ie FT's and pumps.

Now most people simply add Seasol seaweed extract (Maxicrop in U.S.) on a regular basis, ie: 1x capful (15ml), per 500L, per fortnight, is a commonly used rate. Seasol is primarily trace elements, with a small amount of Potassium.

Thanks for the info Mr. D! Guess it makes sense to get your minerals from an ocean source rather than rock. mahalo

I always use Maxicrop w/ Iron.....but there is a new guy on the block which is cheaper, has more options, bigger container and made in Maine. The HP guys seem to favor it over the Maxicrop. I will be switching when I run out.
