Hi guys, we have a local supplier here in the Philippines of seaweed extract, I would like to ask if it is safe for aquaponics, this is the lab analysis of their product:
Nitrogen (N) 0.25 - 0.45%
Phosphorus (P2O5) 0.10 - 0.25%
Potassium (K2O) 0.80 - 1.13%
Sulfur (S) 0.20 - 0.40%
Magnesium (Mg) 30 - 90ppm
Calcium (Ca) 300 - 800ppm
Boron 1.60 - 2.05ppm
Molybdenum (Mo) 0.08 - 0.20ppm
Copper (Cu) 0.80 - 1.10ppm
Zinc (Zn) 0.70 - 3.80ppm
Manganese (Mn) 0.80 - 1.10ppm
Iron (Fe) 70 - 100ppm
Cobalt (Co) 0.05 - .25ppm
Plant Growth Regulators:
Auxins 0.051%
Cytokinins 0.078%
Gibberellins 0.080%

Is this safe for the fish? And what is the procedure of application for this?

I am not sure what form the extract it is but I am using some now and you would never believe the difference it has made.In short my plants have never looked better and the fish seem quite happy.What I am using is a sort of powder that is all stuck together because it has been wet.I put it in a tub and fill it whith water and after a day bucket the water into the grow beds.All I know is that it is seaweed which has been used for making urea and this is the left over waste and that it contains5% urea and all the sea minerals.I used it in small amounts to start with but when I saw the difference it made I am now using a lot more.

Thanks for the info. I would like to ask if the seaweed extract can solve the iron deficiency in my plant. The leaves of my plant are turning yellow and we don't have available chelated iron here in the Philippines.

I haven't used iron since I started using seaweed extract and my plants are going crazy,never looked better.

These capsicums and strawberrys were almost dead before I used the seaweed and I was thinking of pulling them out.

I'm curious where you obtained this, how much it cost you, and how much you add?

I got mine from a friend who works for a firm that make the urea,it was for free but the word has got out now and you can't get it anymore .Fortunately I have enough to last me a fair while.You may be able to get something in Adelaide as all the seaweed has to come from the Eastern states because you are not allowed to collect it in WA.

Any hardware or garden store would have it. Just ensure you use the pure seaweed extract and not the one's where they are adding to balance the N K P.

Seasol is a good one and the Natura for animals is ok but made from fully imported extract.

Is sulfur good for seaweed extract?
