I have my setup along a south facing sliding glass door and the lower set of GB's get pretty good light from about 9-10am til 4 pm or so right now but the upper set of beds doesn't get much at all. I got a four foot long fluorescent light fixture above that now to help. My question is what kind of bulbs should I have in the fixture? (I looked all over this site for advice on lighting and found very little so I thought I'd just start a new thread about it)
Thanx.
Jared

You need full spectrum lamps that are designed for growing. You can find them on amazon, some nurseries, or local hydroponic stores.

I'll offer a differing experience. I've grown plants of many kinds for two decades+ using "regular" fluoros as well at T5s; by alternating warm and cool temperature standard bulbs a regular shop light will give great results. "Grow" fluorescent bulbs are a lot more expensive and don't offer much bang for the extra $$ (at least from a plant's perspective), in fact their lux levels are usually lower. Like any fluoro setup, change the bulbs every 6 months rotating, and keep the bulbs as close to the plants as is practical: the intensity drops sharply with distance from the bulbs.
