Hey is there a formula for adding Liquid seaweed to a system.? My system is approx. 100 gallons and if I follow the mixing instructions on the bottle it would take a little over three quarts to get the correct concentration.

I usually add 1/4 of a pint size bottle to my 80 gallon system. If I don't notice any improvement in a couple of days I add another 1/4.

The instructions are for making a spray for the plants, you are making a liquid to be taken up by the roots so it is different. I have never added more than half a pint at a time.

I have over 3500 litres and add 1 cup (250 ml) to my RFF every month

Good to know. I'll have to tone it down. Hopefully I didn't over do it. I added about 2 oz. to my 100 gal system. The water got dark but the fish seemed to get more active after it was added. Everything I read said it was non toxic to fish I just hope I didn't overload the system.

Luckily I had a formula for the Chelated Iron that I trust so I didn't notice any difference when I added that first besides a slight yellowing of the water. I've been checking the fish quite often since and they don't seem stressed. But hell they are wal-mart goldfish and I have never had good luck with fish from there. But I have only lost four in the first two weeks and I believe they were not too healthy to begin with.

First I want to thank everyone for awnsering my questions. It's been 24 hours since I added 2 oz. to the system none of the fish show any signs if illness they are actually swimming around much more and not hiding in the corners like they usually do. The water is still quite Dark but they seem to be thriving in it so far. I'll have to monitor closely.

It will be used by your plants, do not over use the iron.
