Backyard Aquaponics
A place to discuss aquaponics

Hello,

I am just a 17 year old who is not at all expertise in agriculture and aquaponics, but viewing these great innovations on the internet these past few years, I am interested to see if this could work.

Could it be possible if a fish-human-algae symbiotic relationship could be possible with the following systems together:
- Aquaponics (vertical where possible)
- Algae fuel
- Algae power
- Algae water filtration systems

Could an all-in-one system be possible to help create food, water, power, and oil/biodiesel? Just curious.

Possibility? Yes

But is it feasible to do it? If one is looking into a possible business opportunity, with today's fuel availability and the prices, it is not a good investment idea.

You'd need to run the algae system separately.... and to achieve any biodiesel.. or any level of fish feed... it'd have to be big...

And that means you'd be feeding all the nutrients to the algae.... and you wouldn't be growing many edible plants...

IMO.. if you want to grow algae for any reason.... do it as an algal system... and not an aquaponics system...
