I have basic IBC about 750 litre tank hydroponic set up -20 silver perth -
do i need to run the pump full time or can I put it on a timer ?
and run every few hours
?

You could put your pump on a timer, but I would think that running it only every couple of hours may be too long between cycles.

It is generally recommended that you turn the volume of your fish tank over approximately once per hour.

Are you running any aeration? You may need to if you were only going to pump for 15 mins every few hours, although you don't mention how long you plan to pump for each time and what capacity your pump is.

A 15/45 timed F&D cycle.. is a proven methodology...

If in doubt... take a trip down to an aquaponic store in Jandakot....

Hmmm I was wondering about pump times. Now I have seen this post I don't have to ask, so thank you in retrospect.
