Hi, I have a total grow area of 240 square meters. I want to know what is the size of the fish tank and fish density. I used UVI standard but the number is really big. As suggested by UVI 60g/m2/day is the feeding rate. Since my grow area is 240m2 then I will need 240x60=14400g per day. Since fish feeding is 1% of fish mass then I will need 14400/.01= 1,440,000g=1,440kg of fish mass. If the density I use is 11kg/m3 then the tank size will 1440/11=130m3 which is 130,000 liters. Is this calculation correct? |

The main thing is your biofiltration, which would be your type of media (gravel/hydroton/etc.) and the cubic meters (volume) of your media. From there you can find out how many fish you can support and fish tank size for that many fish. |

That is a large growing area.. I'm assuming that you will be basing your system design on UVI and it will all be DWC? |

Yes earthbond it is based on UVI design and will be mostly DWC. |

i think you might be mixing up some of your numbers and multiplying things that should not be combined. but good luck anyway. |

1% feed rate would be more applicable to adult fish.. juveniles might be closer to 5%... |
