Would vinegar lower the PH in a system? It is acidic correct?

Yea I think its about 5%, you would need to add a lot which may affect the respiration of the fish

Right now just fishless cycling. PH is around 7.7 - 7.8. Would like to take it down to 7.1 - 7.2. What would you suggest? Thanks.

Id leave it. The nitrogen cycle prefers a higher PH and the nitrification process (being acidic) will lower it in time. I wouldnt be messing with it.
