Anybody have a guess as to how many liters of Hydroton is need for a 1250 liter IBC cut jnto a 35cm high growbed?

I've never seen a 1,250L IBC, so can't help you there.

A standard IBC is 1000L and I can tell you that a grow bed made from one of them and filled to the widely recommended 30cm depth with expanded clay (Hydroton) requires 6.5 x 50L bags.

Being a Yank I just converted gallons to liters not thinking. A 300 gallon IBC (should of just said it in
the first place).
