Right now i have a 100 gallon stock tank sump on the ground with a pallet on it. On the pallet is a cement mixing tray grow bed and about a 20 gallon tub with some mosquitofish in there. The pump takes the water from sump and splits it between ft and gb.

I am planning to get an ibc fish tank soon. Since i'm expanding incrementally as i go here i'll just start the ft with some little fish and add grow beds as the fish get larger. What i want to do is just put the ft next to the current setup and use the same sump and existing gb. i think it's called a CHOP 2 as it flows currently, but i'm considering changing it so the flow just goes sump-ft-gb-sump.

At some point i think i'd like to add a green wall (nft?) but not sure yet. I have some stuff to build a simple SLO.

My question is: would i be better off with the ibc on the ground or do i need to raise it above the sump for a gravity feed? I'd like to have a SLO and a "clean water" drain as well.

Straight forward chift pist system, way better than chop2 anyway... :thumbright:

And no, the IBC on the ground will be fine.

Thanks earthbound. I was pretty sure it would work, it's just hard for me to envision the feed for some reason.
