Not much of a market around here for used IBC containers. Found some that are food grade and the MSDS is Sodium Citrate and the MSDS says it is AKA Citric Acid.

Based on my reading, citric acid can be an herbicide.

Does anyone know if it will be ok to use tanks that had it in them and if there is anything special I need to do other than to rinse them really well?

You should be fine with that, if you want to you could stick in some sodium bicarbonate in after the first rinse and rinse again.

I'm about to get another ibc for free from a orchard palm tree farm. I don't know what was in it exactly they told me that they knew it wasn't fuel. Or oil or anything. Do I need to know for sure exactly or is there a way I could scrub away and clean it and make sure it's safe?

Or just not worth it at all

You would be taking a risk, and I'm not sure its worth it. Some of the pesticides and industrial chemicals are persistent without knowing what it is you can't be sure you can break it down to a safe level.

What were they using it for?

I'm not sure I assume nutrients, Ferts. Or pesticides? But it's a palm farm and the worker didn't know. Other than its been empty for over a year

Its likely to be safe especially after a good wash and some bleach but personally I would not risk it. The first two are fine its the last one that's worrying and I know they are supposed to be using "less harmful less persistent" pesticides but they also put carrying spreading agents in.

So If I I Do A Bleach scrub
? Or power wash it like remove some layer and bleach. It won't remove any plant Ferts. Or pesticides?

It's not fuel, oil and looks like s clear or transparent liquid. Thank you very much. Am trying to set up and level tables
