I think, if I remember right, they are rated as carnivorous and take over a year to put on a pound. I'm looking for herbivorous or omnivorous and has food conversion ratio of 1.7 or less. Suited for warm climate. Catfish eats anything and grows fast but I hate those barbs and he's hard to skin that thin, bad tasting, white underlayer.
