I tried to get more information and I am a very avid googler but couldn't get much more than what's in the article, ie. what bulbs are the using. I analyzed the pictures very thoroughyl and it seems like 2inch net pots with ebb&flow. Can't see from the pics how the harvesting would work. But the operation looks quite well done. I know it's not aquaponics but such hardware could probably be adapted for it. Correct?

eat too much food grown that way and you will have to live in the clean room to. As I recall children need to be exposed to a certain amount of dirt in order to build their immune systems.

Oh well

Kinda new age looking though and it perhaps will become necessary in places that don't get enough warm weather and sun light during a huge portion of the year and have an ample sources of geothermal energy to use for electrical generation.

TCLynx ,, your 1,000,000 percent correct. Exposure to natures bugs is a very imporatnt part of a child building his/her immune system. I encourage my kids to play in the dirt ,, catch the lizards etc.

I don't think I entered enough in my original post. I was only impressed with their indoor vertical system. Not the operating room cleanliness aspect. Also, it could be with an AP system thereby introducing all kinds of germs to make kids healthy. Regarding the use of power, this can at the very least be augmented via solar and wind. Also don't forget that you can make biofuels with the plant waste products. This biofuel can then be reintroduced to offset power needs. I am in need of an indoor vertical system for my application and this was one of the first I've seen which can have AP introduced to the concept I had in mind. As I live in a city (Chicago) with plenty of contaminated soild from 100 years of factories and plants with no consideration of the environment and even the rainwater here is undrinkable I need to research some vertical indoor method.

Cities will always be around hence there will always be a need. Eliminating the cargo ships and tractors and tractor trailers getting our produce to us might offset the amount of energy used to grow in a system like this.

Hello Gentlemen!!

If you wanted to grow plants indoors would you ask advice from a farmer or even a so called hydroponics expert ?

Nocky

Do you think those idiots in that video pioneered indoor growing? And I am quite happy :drunken: getting Sleepe with a few drinks, well perhaps more than a few
(BTW Sleepe is the name of one of my cars, ask a go faster boy what a sleeper is :) )

Biggest problems with indoor grow rooms is when the cops show up because they are certain the sudden increase in power consumption can't be for legal purposes.
