This is an extention from a preivous thread of mine, which just scratched the surface of my ideas. I'm 16 years of age and have started up a company called Localvore, which basically means to eat locally. I hope to set up small two hectare farms which will accomodate a small population of residents in a localised area typically within 10 kilometers. These farms will be situated in densely populated areas and will be more environmentally friendly as they will not use any chemicals, man made fertilizers etc and will have minimal transport. All items will be delivered straight to the customers door, which will minimise the amount of driving the consumer does. Local producers of chemical free (pesticide, herbicide etc) produce such as dairy farmers, bakers, poultry, meat etc will also be able to retail their goods through localvore. Localvore aims to strengthen local communities, provide jobs to local citizens, minimse waste and pollution and provide chemical free healthy fresh food to the consumer at an affordable price. I will setup integrated waste facilities which will convert green wastes such as food scraps and paper into rich organic fertilizer, through the use of worms and composting. This will extend the life of local landfill sites and decrease pollution. This fertilizer will be sold to the consumer as a byproduct. The waste will be used along with animal castings to produce methane gas, which will power all vehicles and machinery used in localvore and the remaining gas be on sold to the consumer. I have registered the name etc my first logo design drafts are attached. Any comments on my work especially my logo designs would be much appreciated. Thankyou Ps: Under the business name in the logos are the words "fresh | local | produce"

Nice one Mitch... I would like to see number 4 with three different colours, blue/red green or similar.. Number 10 could be simple and interesting... Oooh it's so hard to choose. |

You never cease to amaze me however I am not really surprised! A contradiction I know. I would like to see them a little bigger but I like the colours of no. 1 it looks like the text symbolises moving forward beacause of its slant. No. 12 could have possibilities! Daniel likes 10, Laura likes 10 and 12. Have fun deciding, this is called market research. |

I like No 3 because it has the food close to the city. |

I like 1, but would like to see a fish int he bounty of produce... or perhaps just a hint, or an outline. The pic in 12 is nice, but I prefer next to the Name, not above. |

Mitch, there are 14 logos and only 10 spots at the top to chose from, a bit tricky for this late at night! |

What a choice. Very professional, all of them. I may need to call you. I really like #1... if you could find room for fish it would be perfect. Mathew |

I like #1 and #11. I agree with Faye with the forward slant of #1 but I would change the color of the arc to a yellow-orange to represent warm sunshine or an aqua blue to represent water. It's a subtle difference but will play better with the eye. Although a little busy, I like #11- because it is bold and will catch the eye- that's what business cards are suppose to do, so they don't get tossed- and it shows well what business the card represents. I would seperate the name from the pictures, keeping a simple open font and contrast the color to better stand out and better balance the card. Also if you're planning to incorporate dairy and other products, you may wish to represent them right from the start- it's much harder to change a logo once it is established, not to mention more costly if you have business cards, letterheads, signage, flyers- you get the idea. I worked in a full service printing shop for a short time and I found the process every interesting. A couple of things I can tell you, that I know from experience, are that full color cards, even though small, are very detailed and show pictures very well but colors do seem to darken a little. This is especially true for regular business cards with small fonts- it's harder for the eye to see a degree of difference in darker colors so dark green and so on, seem to trend towards black. |

1 and 4 are nice and clean/simple which is good. I cant see, but it there was a fish in #1 then that would be my choice, though #4 looks very corporate, and Im a bit anti corp |

I like 11 too but can't vote for it. After reading your description and taking a quick glance at the logos, number 11 was the one that jumped out at me as looking nice and fitting your description in my mind. Keep up the good work! |
