Hi guys,

Can you increase the planting capacity in AP by incorporating aeroponics into the system ? Obviously you'd still run a grow bed to keep the bacteria so this is more or less to expand the growing capacity without placing to much strain on the system, would it work or not ?

It has been done. The area of concern is solids. Aeroponics is prone to clogging, so your water column needs to be super clean.

+1

I think clogging would be a time consuming issue. It could probably be done with some kind of zero discharge system but I think it would be more trouble than its worth.

i was running a small system of 2 barrels with sprayers inside and it worked well.. i put a sock on the intake and filled another sock full of gravel over it and i didnt have to mess with it much. i took it down because i couldnt get it to stop leaking.. and it was in my basement . if you had a sump on the end of a gravel bed i dont think it would be a problem.. you probably couldnt get away with just one pump on the system though
