Quote: MARGARET RIVER MARRON FARM
The Cosby family bought the Margaret River Marron Farm eight years ago when it was in need of considerable attention. For example there were 42 ponds, some of which leaked badly. The farm now operates with 10 ponds, breeding and growing out the crustaceans. They sell for $46 per kilo, and are sold directly at the farm or to the local trad e at Margaret River. The family intend introducing a new, faster-growing breed of marron which will reach market weight in 18 months rather than the current three years. Wine, wine grapes and avocados are also produced on the farm. Source: Frank Smith in Countryman (27/9/2007). Nice and handy for you C1...... |
