My system is very new and i'm very keen, so I have put a few solar lights in the grow bed (8). I don't really know if growth will increase with them, it does however make the system more interesting at night Has anyone else experimented with solar lights?

They're LED's Wheatie..... growth prospects nil..... Unless of course you wear a foil hat and fertilise them by hand around 4am every morning |

Don't get me started WG... Put one above the tank to attract some bugs for the fish. |

Rupe, much success has been made with LED grow lights. However white LEDS fall in the zilch to bupkiss range... |

Not to dissapoint you, but the emitted light is BY FAR TOO LOW for any plant growth. You also have a very high part of the light which is not usable for plants (they only use red and blue). There are LED-clusters out there which work very well, but they all make violett light and don´t look very good - but the plants like it. Please forget about catching light to produce light - maybe in 5 to 10 years when organic led´s are pricely attractive, but at this time...no option |
