The wife has just informed me I have been sat here reading for the last 4 hours, well worth it mind, you really are an inspiration OBO, now to work out where to build a small system in amongst the Cider sheds. ;)

Cider? Did someone mention cider?

I have heard a rumor that next year we will have extra special guests for our cider making. This year I missed most of the apples so I think we are only going to get about 150L.

Finally getting back into aquaponics where a string of moves prevented me from building a system since my original was taken down and the first thing I did was read this entire thread. Only part that I wish didn't go away is the profitability of the system. After 2 years is a worthwhile profit being turned? Or is it still considered hobby mode and that justifies loss?

*disclaimer* If I was interested in making a lot of money I'd run hydroponics which I am very skilled at. My goal is to make side money while feeding myself and family quality produce and the occasional fish. I've wanted to run a commercial scale system similar to yours for about 5 years now and since you're the first I've read that I can get a response for I'm wondering if you feel I'm better off with a family sized one or if a bigger set up that I'd enjoy running would give me the meager margin I desire.

Also kudos to this great endeavor, fruitful or not I'm highly jealous ^_^

Colin is a very busy guy at the moment. He only gets sundays off...... if he's lucky.

I will say on his behalf, you will need to be patient for a reply. :thumbleft:

Making costs and a bit extra currently, that's without trying to sell anything, no advertising, all word of mouth.

I'm just too busy at the moment to finish it, but I will :)

That's great! I'll dedicate my aquaponics journal to you because this thread was very motivating for me.
