Do you get bugs/pests in the green house? Does it reduce plant problems as well?

In a greenhouse environment bugs can proliferate and so the idea is to maintain good hygiene. For example ensuring that no infected plants are introduced in the first place. If there is a pest outbreak you can use biological control such as commercially available predators and parasites eg if aphids are a problem you may consider bringing in ladybirds to eat them all. you can also use sticky traps to lure and trap them. Of course the benefits of growing in a greenhouse are that you can better maintain and control ideal growing conditions such as temperature and airflow depending on how sophisticated the greenhouse is.

I am a firm believer in biological control, Ladybugs and all their friends control nasties nicely, you never get 100% control but its manageable and grow enough extra to compensate. having a greenhouse without Ladybugs and other bio helpers is an invitation to disaster as far as I am concerned.

I am usually criticized each time I mention this... :support: I use Safer brand insecticidal soap concentrate for aphid control Mix one teaspoon of soap and one teaspoon of vegetable oil in about a gallon of water and slightly blend it. Lightly spray it on the infected area of the leaves.

For caterpillars like cabbage worms, I use Dipel (BT)

For whitefly, I've been experimenting with lemons. I boil some lemon rinds in water for awhile and spray the liquid on the plants. So far, so good.
