I've been looking through the site and I've found conflicting info on the ratio of growbed media to water capacity. I think the two popular numbers are 30% and 40% water volume in the growbed.
Can anyone please clarify this for cinder rock gravel (I believe you guys call it red scoria).
Thanks in advance.

I use red scoria, although slightly larger than most here.
My 3kL tank drops about a quarter when 2160L of GBs are full.
So that makes it about 1/2 way between your already stated percentages.

depends on the grade of scoria. the smaller it is, the more you fit in and the less water is held.
