Hard to control ants, generally you try to keep them out of the bed in the first place, perhaps try flooding the bed, this can get rid of them. |

I had this issue as well and they were farming aphids. Flooding didn't work. What did work was finding their next and baiting them. I used: https://www.bunnings.com.au/pestxpert-1 ... t_p3010423 Found their nest poured a decent amount on it and then sprinkled the rest like salt around the yard. It only took a few days and they were gone. Hosed the aphids off and haven't had an issue since. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk |

Weve had massive ant invasions on our property, Id look at controlling the nests and eventually they should die off. They would only be foraging in your grow beds. We tried so many products but settled on a liquid that we sourced from Norco (rural supply store), its was very pricey but only requires 6ml per 5 litres, after a couple weeks of application they vanished. Ill get the name of it for you. |

Whenever I get ants (typically the invasive Argentine ant in my area), it is usually a sign that there are aphids around. We use baited traps to deal with ants for home infestations, but I am not sure if that is appropriate for an aquaponic system infestation given the toxicological effects the ingredients may have within an aquaponic system. Neem oil or an azadirachtin-based product will work for aphids - if you find aphids and are able to eliminate them, the ants may go away. |
