how are you coping? The interest is also personal; where i have my system in gran canaria, the temperature can go above 40'c.
the temp in the water at the moment is 16.c
this is my first year operating 1700l fish tank, 34 tilapia (one death since may last year), 2 gravel beds and 4 dwb of cut down ibc.s

If I said I was not coping and dying, would you fly me over to your place and restore my sanity??? hmmm didnt think so :D

45 here tomorrow 27 Fryday unless fried day becomes tomorrow. What scare me the most is the bloody winds we are expecting, faaaart one spark and tinderbox goes up. Last BIG fire I was involved in was 13 years ago and DONT want to be in another.

Driving a ute with fire pump on the back, along fence lines cause you cant see ya dic, running over sheep cause they are bunched along the fenceline as well. Power out at home for 4 days. After the fire was eventually stopped (by wind change) I shot over 500 sheep. Never again Jim.

My tanks got to 33c today started at 30c this morning

We had a 43 today 26 overnight

Forecast is 46 tomorrow and 28 overnight

Ive noticed fish lose interest in feed over 30 so must be stressed

Feeling for you Tonz I used to hate summers when I lived there every windy day watching the horizon

Had 2 big fires through my farm first one burned southern half the next one took everything except the house

Ive set foggers up over my systems and ran them a few times today don't know if they help but at least ive tried something

I have a old evaporative cooler set up for the chooks (chickens) I run that once it gets around 40 provides a small cool area for them

THE TEMP HITS 35 PLUS, SOMETIMES, IN THIE AREA I HAVE THE AQUAPONICS. THE CANARIANS GROW NOTHING OUTSIDE IN THE SUMMER

Hi SOH11,

We've had several days over 44C in recent weeks and nights in the high 20's to low 30's. I've managed to keep temps below 28 by putting HDPE hoops over the GB's and covering them with a thick King size mattress overlay which I keep moist by a mister on a timer. I leave the ends open to aid airflow. Our heat is usually a dry heat (but not always) so that helps with the evaporative cooling. I have the sump and F/tanks partially buried and well insulated above ground.
Tonzz, I know exactly where you are coming from. I had a fire sweep through and was congratulating myself on saving my cattle when it swept back from 90 degrees and it all went up again....over already burnt ground. I couldn't believe it and it went through faster. Never again.
I sold up and left.
