Hi Lica86 You'll probably get better advice if you can tell us a bit more about your system - things like: just some basic info about your setup any recent changes to your setup Exactly how high are the nitrites Are your fish looking crook? High nitrates aren't an urgent problem in my experience... having had them well over 300 for many months at a time. High nitrites can kill fish - can be reduced quickly with water changes. I've never needed to do it but I believe you can change up to 10% of your system volume a day if using chlorinated water and significantly more if you have a source of dechlorinated water. You'll probably get some good info from those currently asleep on the other side of our country in the morning (I'm in Pilbara at the moment on a FIFO stint). |

What is your plant density? May be cut out feeding and see if there is any difference for the next 3-5 days. |

@madeleine>> Looking forward to more answers! its an old thread - May 3rd, 2016 - and the OP (original poster) never replied to the questions that members asked. In those cases threads and advice usually fade pretty quickly.... |
